Comparison of Shear Bond Strength and Adhesive Remnant Index of Two Different Primers in Dry and Wet Conditions

Purpose: To assess the shear bond strength (SBS) and adhesive remnant index score (ARI) of different primers in dry condition wet conditions.
 Materials Methods: A total 80 human premolars which are free from caries, cracks, fine lines were collected mounted on acrylic. These teeth randomly distributed into two groups (Assure Plus Transbond XT/MIP). Each group was again reassigned subgroups (dry wet) with 20 each subgroup based primer used enamel surface after etching (Contaminated or Non contaminated). All bonded then stored separate glasses containing distilled water for seven days at 37 0C. Universal testing machine to measure SBS by applying 50 kg force 0.5 mm/min. The assessed using a stereomicroscope.
 Results: There is no statistically significant difference Assure plus XT conditions. Among four subgroups, showed high (12.63 ± 6.64 Mpa). ARI scores between MIP conditions (P<0.001).
 Conclusion: On moisture contaminated teeth, higher than MIP. has least among all, but adequate withstand masticatory forces.
